There’s not much here yet, but we’ve got some big ambitions for this blog/web site.
I’m a long time computer scientist, and web developer. Most recently I’ve taken on the roll of web manager for a new and upcoming Indie band called Ivory Drive. In this roll, I’ve encountered literally dozens and dozens of different web sites, all promising in one way or another a path to fame for Indie and unsigned artists.
I’ve learned a lot (but certainly far from everything) about which sites are actually helpful, which seem pretty worthless, and which are still out of the league of a new Indie band. My goal for this site is to provide a review of many of the web resources I’ve encountered while searching for the best web sites for Indie artists. I hope that other artists will leave comments about specific sites, and perhaps even contribute reviews of sites.
Over time, I hope this site can become a valuable resource for Indie and unsigned artists, and provide insights for some of the best and most useful sites.
So hang in there. At this point, this is not a money making deal for me (another difference from most of the sites!). It is the Christmas holiday, and I’m busy with that at the moment. But after the beginning of the year, watch for reviews of some of the sites I’ve found most useful for Ivory Drive.
